Back in January, Crunchyroll confirmed the North American Jujutsu Kaisen 0 release dates for March 18th, 2022.

Tickets in North America go on sale on February 25, 2022, but European fans needn’t wait much longer to plan a cinema viewing of the foundational tales of Weekly Shonen Jump’s Jujutsu Kaisen.

Prior to publication in the weekly shonen magazine, Gege Akutami penned a one-shot, originally named Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School. The manga ran in Jump GIGA from April to July 2017. And while its successor, Jujutsu Kaisen, has gained popularity due to the widely-acclaimed anime adaption produced by MAPPA, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is finally getting a shot to wow cinema viewers.

The first in a long list of worldwide dates are as follows:

  • March 16, 2022 for France, Belgium, and Luxemburg
  • March 18th, 2022 for the UK
  • March 29, 2022 for Germany, Switzerland, and Austria

More dates have yet to be officially announced, but Crunchyroll has confirmed that the film will eventually release in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Finland, Netherlands, French-speaking Africa, and Latin America.

Crunchyroll teams up with Wakanim to bring Jujutsu Kaisen 0 to CGR Events theaters

As far as the West is concerned, French-viewers get to enjoy Jujutsu Kaisen 0 sooner than anyone. Showing at select CGR Events theaters in both Japanese with French subtitles and dubbed into French, fans can purchase tickets for a March 13th preview as of February 17th or wait for the national ticket office release on February 25th.

This worldwide cinema event is likely made possible by Jujutsu Kaisen 0’s impressive performance in Japanese theaters. After 8 weeks on the #1 box office spot, the film adaptation of Gege Akutami’s serialized manga has earned over 226-million yen — making it the 27th top-grossing film in Japanese history.

KAZÉ Anime Nights finally return after an early postponement

Hosted by KAZÉ Anime Nights, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will be available for viewing at select German, Swiss, and Austrian theaters. So far, CinemaxX, CineStar, and Kinopolis have been confirmed among other participating theaters. The full list has yet to be announced, but tickets will be on sale as of February 18th.

KAZÉ Anime Nights is a yearly anime cinema event hosted by the German company KAZÉ. The 2022 event was originally postponed but has returned as of January 25th, 2022.  All films will be shown with German subtitles and German dubbing. As Crunchyroll has stated, participating theaters can choose to hold encore screenings after KAZÉ Anime Nights have ended. German-speaking fans should make some noise at their local theater to keep Jujutsu Kaisen 0 around.

With more Jujutsu Kaisen 0 release dates right around the corner, those wanting to brush up on their Jujutsu Kaisen knowledge before the cinema viewing can purchase the digital or paperback edition of the manga on Viz’s online store. And for German fans, KAZÉ recently announced that a DVD and Blu-ray version is in production.
