It seems with each passing day, the Fall 2022 anime season unveils another anime for fans to anticipate, and with Netflix announcing their new Romantic Killer anime, today is no different. It’s a good thing October 2022 is only getting closer because it’s getting hard to wait for all this new content.
Along with the series announcement, Netflix also dropped a teaser trailer on their Twitter account. The trailer not only gave viewers a first look at the anime but revealed the release date of October 27, 2022.
Studio Domerica will handle the production of the show. They are known for producing series such as The World Ends with You the Animation. They have also assisted on a number of projects, including the Persona franchise, Yowamushi Pedal, Pokemon, and more. Directing the series will be Kazuya Ichikawa, who has previously directed series like The World Ends with You the Animation and Burning Kabaddi.
At the moment, it is unclear how many episodes Romantic Killer will have or if it will follow the weekly release schedule that several recent Netflix shows, like Komi Can’t Communicate, have.
What will the Romantic Killer anime be about?
While fans of the Romantic Killer manga are surely excited to see the series get a television adaptation, other anime fans may be wondering what to expect from the show.
Based on the series by Wataru Momose, Romantic Killer tells the story of Anzu, a teenage girl whose life is turned upside when she is transported into an alternate reality by a strange magical creature. Suddenly her days of gaming, enjoying snacks, and hanging out with her cat are replaced with trying to survive in this strange new place. On top of her already unfortunate circumstances, she’s forced to become allies with Tsukasa Kazuki, one of the most popular guys from school. As if her life couldn’t get any worse, she might even have to admit that Tsukasa Kazuki actually isn’t that bad of a guy.
What voice actors are attached to the series so far?
Along with the series, some of the main cast members for Romantic Killer were also announced.
Playing Anzu Hoshino, the series’ main character, will be Rie Takahashi. She has previously had roles in many popular shows like Rent-A-Girlfriend and Classroom of the Elite.
Playing Lili, the adorable creature that transports Anzu to her new life, is actress Mikako Komatsu. Her voice can be heard in shows like Jujutsu Kaisen and Don’t Toy with me Miss Nagatoro.
What will the opening song be?
Just when it seemed like there couldn’t be any more announcements regarding a series that has yet to air, one more bit of exciting news was released as well.
In a retweet about the new Romantic Killer anime, Japanese singer YURiKA, revealed that she would be covering the opening song for the series. The song will be titled ROMA ☆ KiRA.
