Ryohgo Narita and Shinta Fujimoto’s dark fantasy manga — Dead Mount Death Play is inspiring a TV anime adaptation.
Dead Mount Death Play anime release date is in April 2023, in the Spring 2023 anime season.
An official Twitter handle and website for the anime adaptation were also opened, where a trailer PV and a key visual were released.
The trailer gives a glimpse into the premise of the show and introduces the main cast of characters of the anime.

Cast and staff
The main cast of Dead Mount Death Play anime includes:
- Yuki Sakakihara (Nanaki Ralei in The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt) as Polka Shinoyama
- Inori Minase (Hestia in Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) as Misaki Sakimiya
- Yuma Uchida (Megumi Fushiguro in Jujutsu Kaisen) as Takumi Kuruya
Manabu Ono (best known for directing The Irregular at Magic High School) is directing the Dead Mount Death Play anime at studio GEEKTOYS. He is also in charge of the series composition and writing the scripts with Yukie Sugawara, and Yoriko Tomita. Hisashi Abe is designing the characters. F.M.F (Yuuki Nara, eba, Utane Utatane) is composing the music.

Dead Mount Death Play is an upcoming anime based on the manga series of the same name written by Ryohgo Narita and illustrated by Shinta Fujimoto.
The manga has been serialized in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine since October 2017. Its individual chapters have been compiled into nine tankobon volumes to date. Dead Mount Death Play manga Volume 10 will release on November 25, 2022.
Yen Press is publishing the manga in English. Eight volumes have been released to date.
In the final moments of the battle between the last hope of the world — Shagurua, “The Calamity Crusher” and the strongest necromancer — “The Corpse God”, reincarnation magic is used. And someone is reincarnated in modern Shinjuku! A boy named Polka Shinoyama awakens, not quite himself. Turns out there is an assassin after this boy.
