A teaser trailer and key visual for the Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts were released ahead of its 2023 premiere.

The anime was first announced back in January 2021. The official website for the anime was opened in April 2022 and it announced the 2023 premiere.

The teaser trailer shows the King of Beasts welcoming Sariphi as his queen and gives us a glimpse into their relationship. The teaser PV also announced the main cast and staff of the show.

The main cast includes:

  • Kana Hanazawa (Mitsuri Kanroji in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) as Sariphi
  • Satoshi Hino (Ainz Ooal Gown in Overlord) as Leonhart
  • Yuka Nukui (Anne Halford in Sugar Apple Fairy Tale) as Cy
  • Natsumi Fujiwara (Abigail Jones in Great Pretender) as Clops

Chiaki Kon (best known for her work in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni) is directing the series at J.C. Staff. Seishi Minakami (Paprika) is in charge of the series scripts. Shinya Hasegawa (Revolutionary Girl Utena) is designing the characters. Kohta Yamamoto (Attack on Titan The Final Season) is composing the music.

More about Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts

Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts anime, also known as Niehime to Kemono no Ou in Japanese, is based on a manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Yu Tomofuji.

The manga was first serialized in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine from November 2015 to October 2020. The manga has been compiled into 15 tankobon volumes.

Yen Press has licensed the manga for English publication and has published the 15th volume in April 2022.
