Additional cast members for the upcoming Golden Kamuy Season 4 keep popping up, the occurrence that has us all the more excited ahead of the anime’s S4 premiere!
By the by, the Golden Kamuy Season 4 release date has been confirmed for October 2022, the Fall 2022 anime season.
Back to the news at hand, the latest addition to the cast is Tomokazu Seki, the voice behind One Piece Film: Gold’s Rob Lucci. Tomokazu will voice Bōtarō the Pirate (Kaizoku Bōtarō, pictured above).
Bōtarō is as shady as it gets but — let’s be honest here — he’s neither the first nor the last such character joining the picturesque company of adventurers and cutthroats out for the Ainu riches! Apparently, Bōtarō has committed no less than 55 robberies and murders and has also had a hand in a number of thefts and arsons! Are you excited to meet him yet?
We sure are!
For some added thrills, Kaizoku Bōtarō (real name: Fusatarō Ōsawa) is a former tattooed Abashiri convict (in)famous for drowning people and robbing them of money and goods (hence the nickname “Pirate”).
Bōtarō is the third new Golden Kamuy character revealed so far. Warrant Officer Kikuta was introduced on August 5, 2022, whereby it was announced that he’ll be voiced by seiyuu Kenyu Horiuchi. Horiuchi is the voice behind Re: ZERO -Starting Life in Another World’s Wilhelm van Astrea.
Another new character — Private First Class Rikimatsu Ariko — was introduced on August 12. Ariko is voiced by Masaaki Mizunaka, the voice actor behind Kakeru Ryuuen in Classroom of the Elite.
Golden Kamuy Season 4: What we know so far
Golden Kamuy debuted in 2018 (Season 1 ran from April to June 2018). Season 2 was broadcast from October to December 2018, and Season 3 aired from October to December 2020.
It has been confirmed that animation Studio Brain’s Base is taking over from Geno Studio for Golden Kamuy Season 4.

About the Golden Kamuy manga series
Golden Kamuy (ゴールデンカムイ) is a manga series written and illustrated by Satoru Noda. It was serialized from 2014 to July 19, 2022. The individual chapters have been collected into 31 tankōbon volumes, with the final volume having been released on July 19, 2022, in Japan. Golden Kamuy was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine for the entirety of its run.
VIZ Media licensed the series in 2016 for international audiences. The latest English edition is Volume 26 (May 2022); Volume 27 will be out on September 20, 2022.
Golden Kamuy won the 9th Manga Taishō award in 2016, the 22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2018, and the Grand Prize in the comic book category of the 51st Japan Cartoonists Association Awards earlier in 2022.
