Ethnologist and ESL teacher by vocation, adventurer by nature, and writer/translator at heart. An ardent pluviophile and proud secular humanist. Loves scribbling above all else; has left voluminous traces here and there. A full-time otaku and a huge fan of all things Tolkien. Dividing her free time between lengthy trips to Middle Earth, Brattahlid, and Bakumatsu Edo, Maja occasionally ventures into the late Anthropocene, where she studies calligraphy and the Japanese language. Runs a blog on Norse mythology; published a book on the topic. Owner of two cats who never fail to make her day. Oh, and a hardcore fan of ethnic- and biological diversity. Might just migrate to Mars one day (or at least Kepler-452b!), seeing as her species regularly fails to see the bigger picture.
