I’m Quitting Heroing: Next Gig Is at the Demon Queen’s Castle Season 2 will continue the story of the world’s strongest hero Leo Demonhart and Demon Queen Echidna now that his secret is revealed. But when will I’m Quitting Heroing Season 2 come out?

While the second season is still over the horizon, anime fans won’t have to wait for new episodes. The Blu-Ray/DVD box set will include a two-part I’m Quitting Heroing “Episode 13 and 14”. HIDIVE has confirmed that they will be streaming the two OVA episodes on June 24 and August 24, 2022, respectively (see the I’m Quitting Heroing OVA episode section below for more details).

The main staff and studio making Yuusha, Yamemasu Season 2 hasn’t been announced yet.

The first season of the I’m Quitting Heroing anime TV series was animated by Studio EMT Squared, which is probably best known for the Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear anime series, the Drug Store in Another World anime, the Assassin’s Pride anime, and The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar anime.

In 2022, the studio also released the soccer anime Shoot! Goal to the Future. As for the future, it’s already been confirmed that EMT Squared is working on the Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Season 2 anime.

For the first season of I’m Quitting Heroing, the anime project was helmed by main director Hiasahi Ishii (Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, Rainy Coca) and chief director Yuu Nobuta (The Faraway Paladin Season 2, World’s End Harem). Writer Shigeru Murakoshi (Zombieland Saga) wrote the scripts.

Artist Yuki Nakano (Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, Haikyuu!!) was the character designer. Composer Kouhei Munemoto wrote the music.

The I’m Quitting Heroing Season 2 OP (opening) and ED (ending) theme song music hasn’t been announced yet.

For the first season, the I’m Quitting Heroing OP “Broken Identity” was performed by Minori Suzuki (the voice of Dianette), while the ED “Growing” was performed by Nao Touyama.

Due to Sentai Filmworks acquiring exclusive streaming rights to the anime, the first season was streaming exclusively with English subtitles only on HIDIVE (not Crunchyroll, Funimation, Netflix, Hulu, VRV, or Amazon Prime Video). An I’m Quitting Heroing English dub release date hasn’t been announced yet.

The first season’s finale, I’m Quitting Heroing Episode 12, was released on June 21, 2022.

This article provides everything that is known about I’m Quitting Heroing Season 2 (Yuusha, Yamemasu Season 2) and all related news. As such, this article will be updated over time with news, rumors, and analysis. Meanwhile, let’s delve down into what is known for certain.

Yuusha, Yamemasu Season 2 release date predictions: Renewal uncertain?

As of the last update, XXX or any company related to the production of the anime has not officially confirmed the I’m Quitting Heroing Season 2 release date. Nor has the production of an I’m Quitting Heroing sequel been announced.

Once the news is officially confirmed this article will be updated with the relevant information.

In the meantime, it’s possible to speculate about when, or if, the Yuusha, Yamemasu Season 2 release date will occur in the future.

The I’m Quitting Heroing reviews have been good but not great. Perhaps some of the negative reviews are due to the glut of isekai and fantasy anime that only provide a twist on a trope. But the story isn’t simply the twist that the legendary hero joins the Demon Lord’s side after being ostracized by humankind… nor can it be totaly explained by the major plot twist provided by Leo’s backstory.

Instead, it’s a slice-of-life fantasy tale that provides insight into good company management and the dynamics of human behavior in a work environment. The demon army is in ruins since the leadership doesn’t understand good management and their “CEO” the demon queen has noble goals but no idea how to successfully implement a business plan, never mind rebuild a nation by healing the heavily polluted environment.

Thus, at the end of the day it’s a very relateable story once you get past the entry level episode that sets up the conditions. The comedy is on point and the characterization is well done since this is one of the few anime that gets a chance to fully adapt a light novel at its leisure (see the light novel comparison section for more details). But perhaps the producer ordered the studio to only adapt part of the story in order to entice new fans to buy the books.

From a streaming revenue perspective being a HIDIVE exclusive either paid off or it didn’t since HIDVID has far less subscribers in comparison to the Crunchyroll subscribers.

Besides Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, Studio EMT Squared isn’t known for successful anime series that spawn a sequel.

Based on all these factors, it’s difficult to say whether the anime production committee will have I’m Quitting Heroing Season 2 renewed.

I’m Quitting Heroing “Episode 13 and 14” OVA episodes continue the story in BD/DVD box set

As previously discussed, the I’m Quitting Heroing Blu-Ray/DVD box sets will include two additional unaired episodes. The 12 episodes of the first season will be released as two BD/DVD box sets that will release on June 24, 2022, and August 24, 2022.

I’m Quitting Heroing “Episode 13 and 14” is a two-part story that is titled “Remember, the Work Trip is First and Foremost a Learning Opportunity (Kenshuu Ryokou wa Mokuteki o Ushinau na)”. Here is the story summary:

Leo goes on a study tour with Echidna and the Elite Four. They arrive at a deserted hot spring inn with a creepy landlady. That night, Echidna suddenly disappears from the group that was just beginning to deepen their friendship…

Yes, that does mean this anime will be receiving its requisite hot springs episode!

It’s also confirmed that these two unaired episodes will be released internationally on HIDIVE. The first part, Remember, the Work Trip is First and Foremost a Learning Opportunity (Part 1), will begin streaming on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 9:00 PM EST (1:00 UTC). The second part, Remember, the Work Trip is First and Foremost a Learning Opportunity (Part 2), will begin streaming on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022, at 9:00 PM SET (01:00 UTC).

I’m Quitting Heroing manga, light novel series compared to the anime

The story for the anime TV series is based on the Yuusha, Yamemasu: Tsugi no Shokuba wa Maoujou light novel series by writer Quantum and illustrator Hana Amano.

Like many fantasy light novels, the story was first self-published in 2017 on Kadokawa’s Kakuyomu website. Kadokawa Books published the light novel adaptation as three light novel volumes in 2017 and 2018. Publisher Fujimi Fantasia Bunko published a reprint in the first half of 2022.

The I’m Quitting Heroing manga adaptation has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace Up magazine since May 2018. Artist Nori Kazato (Adarushan no Hanayome) creates the art for the manga, while the series creator Quantum does the writing. As of April 2022, there are 6 manga volumes and counting!

Kadokawa has been publishing in digital format an official English translation of both the manga and the light novel series. When the anime premiered in Spring 2022, only the first two light novel books were available online as digital books on the BookWalker website. Rather than selling the I’m Quitting Heroing manga volumes, the BookWalker site is selling the manga chapters separately.

I’m Quitting Heroing Season 1 joined the esteemed company of the 86 anime and the Sabikui Bisco anime by only adapting a single light novel with one full anime season. The other two anime TV series expanded on the source material in ways that improved the story rather than just being filler to pad the season up to 12 episodes.

Likewise, the I’m Quitting Heroing anime added a handful of anime original scenes that provided additional explanation and exposition. For example, the backstory of the half-demon, half-human assassin Mernes was originally only three paragraphs in the light novel.

Much of the I’m Quitting Heroing anime’s success can be owed to the simple fact that it did not need to condense three to five books in a mad rush to get to a decent stopping point in a multi-book story arc.

Instead, the first half of the first season adapted 1 chapter per episode. The first book book has 7 chapters, a final chapter, and an epilogue. But since the Final Chapter is especially long in comparison to the regular chapters it was adapted into multiple episodes.

I’m Quitting Heroing Episode 6 is when Leo’s backstory as a 3,000-year-old Humanoid Bioweapon is finally revealed (bonus points to those who noticed the foreshadowing in Episode 5 when Leo discussed talking “like” a human for the first time). It’s the major turning point in the story since it’s also when the entire series becomes more interesting rather than generic.

Finishing with the ending of Volume 1 is a great stopping point since it’s when Demon Queen Echidna finally realizes Lord Onyx’s real identity was her mortal enemy Hero Leo Demonhart. It’s only at the ending of the first book do audiences really understand Leo’s intentions. It’s also when Leo finally finds full acceptance by these irreplaceable companions he’s come to know as friends.

The good news is that there is plenty of source material available for making I’m Quitting Heroing Season 2. If the second season is two cours it could finish the remainder of the story or leave the final volume for I’m Quitting Heroing Season 3.

Better yet, English-only light novel readers who wish to read ahead of the anime can jump straight to light novel Volume 2 on the BookWalker website. English manga readers can start with Chapter 16.

I’m Quitting Heroing: Next Gig Is at the Demon Queen’s Castle Season 2 anime TV spoilers (plot summary/synopsis)

Retired hero Leo quit being the Hero and became a member of the Demon King’s army and now he’s trying to travel to the hometown of Demon Queen Echidna. He’s vowed to help her reconstruct her people’s devestated world, but before that, there are a lot of problems to be solved!

Leo will need to delve into a dungeon, defeat a dragon, restore diplomatic relations with the humans, never mind cooking in the kitchen during a food crisis!

One of the newest I’m Quitting Heroing Season 2 characters will be Maze-maker Canaan. She’s a 105-year-old succubus who is part dark elf. She’s adapt at dark affinity magic like cursing but is prone to having delusions.

Leo will also have a reunion with DH-06 Virgo the Immortal, another one of the 12 Demonhart Human Bioweapons developed in 2060 that managed to survive the millenia of wars. And, yes, that does mean we’ll learn more about what happened in the distant past.
