One Piece manga Chapter 1068, titled “A Genius’ Dream”, is unofficially out. For those who want to wait for the official translation, the chapter will drop on Sunday as usual.

Chapter 1068 continues the “Germa 66’s Ahh…An Emotionless Excursion” cover story. It shows Ceaser and Judge fighting, thinking about their time together at MADS.

The cover story was the least interesting part of this chapter because this chapter, from the first page to the last, was a 10/10. Let’s get to everything interesting that happens in this chapter one by one.

Since Dr Vegapunk denies entry to CP0, they use Seraphim Kuma’s devil fruit ability to fly to Egghead Island. So most likely, Seraphim Kuma has the same ability as the original Kuma — The Nikyu Nikyu no Mi or The Paw Paw Fruit.

Where is Kuma going?

We saw Kuma panic in the last chapter. He was running off to somewhere even though he was in the middle of his treatment. In this chapter, we saw him using his devil fruit powers on himself. The question is, where did he “repel” himself to?

The most likely answer is that Kuma is headed to Egghead Island. He saw CP0 arrive either through his Seraphim version or through Vegapunk (Punk Records). Whatever might be the case, it looks like we’re up for an emotional father-daughter reunion and a classic Oda backstory.

Vegapunk’s dream

The reason this chapter is titled “A Genius’ Dream” is because Vegapunk reveals his dream to Luffy. Vegapunk wants to build a world where there is an unlimited and free supply of energy. He believes that this would make the world much more peaceful, a world without wars.

We know that Vegapunk and Monkey D. Dragon are working towards a similar goal. It has also been stated that Dragon hates wars, and now we know that Vegapunk wants to create a world without wars. But it seems wanting to create the energy he seeks has gotten him very close to the Void Century. And now the World Government wants him dead.

So he asks Luffy to take him to the sea, and Luffy says yes in Luffy fashion.

Vegapunk disappears

Vegapunk vanishes after talking to Luffy, and my first thought was Absolom’s Suke Suke no Mi. But then, thinking about it, it is probably the same tech that Sanji uses. Even the cover story has Judge in it.

CP0 vs Vegapunk

As CP0 invades the island, Shaka orders Seraphims Boa, Jimbei, and Mihawk to be readied for battle. He puts Sentomaru in charge of these Seraphims. But why would Sentomaru fight against CP0? Even though he is Vegapunk’s bodyguard, will he go against the Celestial Dragons?

Well, only time will tell, but Vegapunk seems to think so.

Luffy vs Lucci 2.0

Vegapunk-Atlas shows up to fight CP0, but she gets done in by Lucci’s Rokuogan. Then we see Luffy coming across Lucci. The End.

While the Ennies Lobby Luffy vs Lucci is my favorite One Piece fight, there is no way that we’ll see something like that again here. Luffy is now a Yonko. It doesn’t matter how strong Lucci has become over time. He is no match for a Yonko.

The fact that Lucci hurt Atlas, who fed Luffy, tells me that Luffy is most likely going to get angry. And I’m hyped to see what this encounter leads to.

Another thing to note is that the first time Zoro meets Kaku in Water 7, he was on the ship guarding it. And once again, Zoro is on the Sunny. I’m pretty sure we’ll see Kaku and Zoro interact again. Let’s see what happens then.

You can check out the official One Piece manga Chapter 1068 when it drops on the Viz website.
