One Piece Episode 1045, titled “A Spell! Kid and Zoro Facing Threats!,” aired on December 18, 2022, and it was an episode worthy of closing the year for One Piece.
For those who don’t know, 1045 was the last episode for 2022. The One Piece anime is taking a break, so there will be no new episodes this year. You can check out the anime release schedule here.
Adult Momonosuke
Now that Luffy has filled his stomach, he is ready to fight Kaido once again. And looks like Luffy is gonna reach Onigashima in style — riding on a dragon! Because Shinobu has fulfilled Momo’s wish and used her fruit to “mature” him. And my god, that guy looks ripped! He seems to have long, flowing black hair, and I think his face will be similar to Oden’s.
Momo still has a fear of heights that he would need to overcome in order to fly in his dragon form.
Raizo vs Fukurokuju
Raizo and Fukurokuju continue their battle in blazing flames. Raizo uses Ninpo: Clone Jutsu! to make clones of himself and throws shurikens at Fukurokoju. Standard stuff for a ninja battle. But I was definitely not expecting Fukuroju to battle using his earlobes! I guess they weren’t just for the show.
Hawkins vs Killer
Another important fight that is taking place simultaneously is between the two Supernova — Hawkins and Killer. And even without a Devil Fruit power, Killer seems to have the upper hand in this battle. He manages to kill almost all of Hawkin’s dolls, but it turns out his last doll is of Kid. This means that if Killer wants to kill Hawkins, he will have to kill his captain first!
But I don’t get exactly how his powers work. What does he need to turn someone into a doll? Maybe we’ll get an explanation later.
Sanji takes on the Calamities
It was amazing to see Sanji fight Queen and King simultaneously. After he ran away from his fight against Black Maria, I knew Oda would give him a chance to shine. But to think he would be able to keep up with two Yonko commanders at the same time.
But now it looks like Sanji will be fighting Queen, and Zoro will be coming back to fight King. We also see Perospero trying to snipe Sanji, and it looks like Perospero vs Nekomamushi is next.
