With all the buzz around Devil Fruit awakenings after One Piece Chapter 1069, let’s take a look at all the confirmed awakened Devil Fruit users.

The first time we learn about Devil Fruit awakening is in Impel Down when Luffy encounters the Jailer Beasts.

During his fight with Luffy, Doflamingo says — “Listen closely, boy. There is another stage entirely to the powers of a Devil Fruit: awakening. It’s very rare, but some powers can awaken and affect objects aside from the wielder.”

And later in Wano, Kaido told Luffy that awakening occurs when a Devil Fruit’s user’s mind and body catch up to their powers.

Here are all the confirmed awakened Devil Fruit users:

Jailer Beasts

The Jailer Beasts of Impel Down are the first awakened Devil Fruit users introduced in the series. Their Zoan awakening makes them incredibly durable, and they can quickly recover from injury.

The Jailer Beasts’ dull nature is the drawback of the awakening of their respective Zoan Devil Fruits, where the animal’s innate nature can consume the user.

Donquixote Doflamingo

Doflamingo has eaten the Ito Ito no Mi, or the String-String Fruit, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, which allows him to create and control strings. We see him use his Devil Fruit awakening in his fight against Luffy in Dressrosa.

His awakening grants him the power to transform non-living things in his surroundings into strings that he can freely control.

Charlotte Katakuri

Katakuri has eaten the Mochi Mochi no Mi, a Special Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that lets him create, control, and transform his body into mochi. Mochi is a traditional Japanese rice cake made from glutinous rice.

Katakuri uses his awakened Devil Fruit power in his fight against Luffy in Whole Cake Island. Awakening him to transform nearby inorganic material into mochi, enabling him to manipulate the environment to his advantage.

Trafalgar D. Water Law

Law has eaten the Ope Ope no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to create a sphere of aura — an “operating room” inside which he can “operate” on anything.

Law uses his Devil Fruit awakening in his fight against Big Mom in Wano. He uses his awakening to directly apply his aura sphere to specific objects instead of a designated area.

Eustass Kid

Kid has eaten the Jiki Jiki no Mi, or the Magnet-Manet Fruit, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to manipulate magnetic forces.

Kid uses his Devil Fruit awakening in his fight against Big Mom in Wano. Awakening enables him to bestow magnetic properties onto things other than his own body.

Monkey D. Luffy

Luffy has eaten the Hito Hito no Mi Model: Nika, a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows him to become an incarnation of the Sun God Nika. The fruit grants Luffy rubber powers and allows him to fight however he pleases, as long as he can imagine it.

Luffy uses his Devil Fruit awakening in his fight against Kaido in Wano. He calls his awakening “Gear 5.” It is a new transformation that allows him to fight with even more freedom.

Rob Lucci

Lucci is the latest entry in this list. He has eaten the Neko Neko no Mi Model: Leopard, a Zoan-type Devil Fruit, which allows him to transform into a leopard.

Lucci uses his Devil Fruit awakening in his fight against Luffy on Egghead Island. It is a new transformation that makes him even more durable and deadly.

Since the fight is still ongoing, we’ll have to wait a little more to know its full potential.
