For every fan holding their breath for the Sugar Apple Fairy Tale anime release date, the wait is over. According to their latest PV trailer, the series will be making its official debut on January 6th, 2023, as part of the Winter 2023 anime season.
This is the second trailer for the series, which was announced back in the summer of 2022. The series has been licensed by Crunchyroll and will likely stream there in the United States. Studio J.C. Staff will be handling the anime. They previously worked on series like One Punch Man and Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon.
The series is going to be an adaptation of the light novel series originally written by Miri Mikawa. Since its first publication in 2010, the franchise has gone on to spawn two different manga adaptations, as well as 17 light novel volumes.
What new cast members were announced?
Along with the new trailer, new cast members were also announced for the series.
Playing Cat, a sugar confectioner, will be Takuma Terashima. Their voice can be heard in popular series such as Black Clover and Edens Zero.
Reiji Kawashima will voice Jonas Anders, the son of a rich sweets merchant. Fans may recognize his voice from To Your Eternity and Shadow House.
Finally, Yuto Uemura will join the cast as Keith Powell, a sugar confectionary craftsman with hopes of becoming a Silver Sugar Master. Uemura has previously voiced characters in series such as 86 and Darling in the Franxx.

What will the Sugar Apple Fairy Tale anime be about?
For those who may be hearing about the series for the first time, Sugar Apple Fairy Tale is a fantasy light novel series.
According to the official website, the series takes place in a fantasy world where fairies are commonplace, and sugar confections are said to bring good luck. For those capable of making scared sugar convictions, there is a special title that can be bestowed upon them – Silver Sugar Master. When she was alive, Anne’s mother was one of these Silver Sugar Masters, and Anne is hoping to follow in her footsteps one day. In order to achieve this, Anne must have her skills recognized at the craftsman fair held by the royal capital once a year. To get there, she hires a warrior elf named Shalle as her escort, despite the tumultuous relations between their races. Despite their initial headbutting, Anne hopes that they can be friends and that maybe their races can begin to understand each other.
It definitely sounds like a unique take on the fantasy anime genre and one worth checking out!
