A new trailer PV for My Master Has No Tail anime has revealed three more cast members for the series. The new cast includes Ayana Taketatsu (Azusa in K-On!!) as Enshi Kirino, Akira Ishida (Gaara in Naruto) as Utaroku Ebisuya, and Junichi Suwabe (Yami in Black Clover) as Buncho Daikokutei.

The anime was announced back in January this year, and the first trailer PV was released in March at AnimeJapan 2022. The anime is set to premiere in October 2022 on Tokyo MX, MBS and BS Asahi.

Cast and staff

The previously revealed cast members include:

  • M·A·O or Mao Ichimichi (Iris in Fire Force) as Mameda
  • Hibiku Yamamura (Noriko in Kiznaiver) as Bunko Daikokutei
  • Lynn (Sakura in I Want To Eat Your Pancreas) as Shirara Tsubaki
  • Takuya Eguchi (Loid in SPY x FAMILY) as Byakudanji Tsubaki
  • Ayumu Murase (Kage in Ranking of Kings) as Sakujiro
  • Natsuki Aikawa (Petra in Attack on Titan) as Omatsu
  • Ikumi Hasegawa (Vladilena in 86 EIGHTY-SIX) as Koito
  • Yuichiro Umehara (Goblin Slayer in Goblin Slayer) as Rakuda

Hideyo Yamamoto, best known for directing Strike the Blood, is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS. Touko Machida, best known for her role in Lucky☆Star, is in charge of the scripts. Ryo Yamauchi is designing the characters.

More about My Master Has No Tail

My Master Has No Tail anime is based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by TNSK.

It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine since January 2019. It has been collected in seven tankobon volumes as of now. The manga is licensed for English publication in North America by Kodansha USA. It describes the story as:

Mameda is a tanuki who was born in the wrong era – all she wants is to trick humans, but that age of tanuki shenanigans is over. But one woman, a rakugo master named Bunko, shows Mameda it’s still possible to cast magic on humans…only with words, not illusions. Mameda is determined to become Bunko’s apprentice, but can she convince the stoic master to take her on…?

My Master Has No Tail Volume 8 release date

The eighth volume of My Master Has No Tail manga is scheduled to release on June 7, 2022. A special digital edition will also be released at the same time with more information on the anime and an interview with voice actors Lynn, Takuya Eguchi, and Yuichiro Umehara.
