One Piece animator — Takashi Kojima inks another beautiful illustration for this year. For those who don’t know, Takashi Kojima inks an illustration every month for the One Piece Everyday app.
And to end this year with a bang, he painted this beautiful Luffy and Momonosuke illustration for the month of December 2022.
Here is the illustration Takashi Kojima drew for December 2022:
Significance of the picture
The illustration shows Luffy on top of a big pink dragon. If you are caught up to the anime, you might have an idea who the pink dragon is — it is Kozuki Momonosuke. We saw Momonosuke’s dragon form back in Dressrosa, but it was only as big as a snake.
But in One Piece Episode 1045, Shinobu fulfilled Momo’s wish and used her fruit to “mature” him. Now that Momo is an adult, his dragon form will also look like a proper dragon.
We’ll most likely see Momo’s adult dragon form in the next episode of One Piece.
For those who don’t know, 1045 was the last episode for 2022. The One Piece anime is taking a break, so there will be no new episodes this year. One Piece Episode 1046 release date is on January 8, 2023. So we’ll have to wait a couple of weeks to lay our eyes on the real thing, but if it looks as good as it does in the illustration, damn!

What is the One Piece Everyday app?
One Piece Everyday is a One Piece-themed companion app released for mobile devices on Monday, January 4, 2021, on Android and iOS. It was released to commemorate 1000 chapters of the One Piece manga in Weekly Shonen Jump.
It allows you to check the weather forecast, follow a One Piece events calendar, track your steps, and unlock daily rewards. You also get an original illustration like the one above every month. You can check out the app if you’re interested.
