Chainsaw Man anime cast adds Maaya Uchida, Natsuki Hanae, and more

The Chainsaw Man anime release date is on October 11, the Fall 2022 anime season.

Just a couple of days ago, on October 4, 2022, MAPPA released a synopsis and a trailer preview for Chainsaw Man Episode 1, which is titled “Dog and Chainsaw,” just like the manga chapter #1.

On October 7, additional cast members were revealed via the TV anime’s official Twitter account.

The newly-announced seiyuu include:

  • Maaya Uchida — Angel Devil
  • Natsuki Hanae — Shark Fiend
  • Saori Gotou — Spider Devil
  • Yuuya Uchida —Violence Fiend
  • Daiki Hamano — Samurai Sword
  • You Taichi — Akane Sawatari

The Chainsaw Man release date was officially confirmed on September 7. “Dog and Chainsaw” will air on TV TOKYO, among other stations, on October 11, 2022, at 24:00 JST. Amazon Prime Video will debut the TV anime on the same day, at 25:00 JST.

From what has been revealed so far, Chainsaw Man will also stream on Netflix, Animax Korea, Hulu, and bilibili.

Crunchyroll has licensed the series and will be streaming it in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, Africa, and CIS.

The international Chainsaw Man dub will premiere at New York Comic Con later today, October 7, 2022.

Additional Chainsaw Man dubs will include French, German, Latin American Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese. Crunchyroll will announce respective cast members at a later date. 

Chainsaw Man: What we know so far

Ryū Nakayama (Black Clover) is directing the anime at Studio MAPPA.

The main staff members include:

  • Makoto Nakazono (Jujutsu Kaisen) — chief episode director
  • Masato Nakazono — assistant director
  • Tatsuya Yoshihara — action director
  • Yusuke Takeda (Vinland Saga) — background art director
  • Hiroshi (Attack on Titan Season 4) — scriptwriter

Kazutaka Sugiyama (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) is the human character designer, whereas Kiyotaka Oshiyama (DEVILMAN crybaby) is the devil character designer. Makoto Nakazono (Little Witch Academia) is the chief technical director. Agraph/Kensuke Ushio (DEVILMAN crybaby, A Silent Voice) is composing the soundtrack.

Chainsaw Man will have 12 episodes.

Just how popular the TV anime is expected to be is seen in the fact that each episode will feature a different ED theme song!

The performers have been already announced. The full list of ending theme songs includes:

Finally, since the anime will feature just 12 episodes — not nearly enough for a series this popular — it will probably comprise at least two cours.
